Swire Properties announces Brickell CityCenter

Hong Kong based real estate firm, the developer of Brickell Key, has announced its plan to build $700 million urban shopping center that includes a hotel, restaurants and condominiums. The Brickell City Center will spread on nearly 10 acres of land, gobbling up Brickell tennis club, the only tennis club on Brickell area.
Admittedly, on the long run city of  Miami will benefit from this mega project that will create new jobs and further revitalize already on steroids Brickell area. I want to turn back for a moment and pay tribute to the collaterals.
As a tennis player, first thing I feel for is Brickell Tennis club. Seven clay courts personify an oasis in the heart of urban environment. The club nested in between skyscrapers, while serving or hitting overheads you can spot metro movers gliding above the courts. Tennis oasis, not only for local tennis players, members and guests, but for few world class players as well, Brickell Tennis club will turn into a big construction site in the next few years. Sad but inevitable.
The CityCenter composed of tall buildings will affect the views from some surrounding buildings’ condo lines. Currently featuring marketable views, the condo lines in buildings Brickell 500, Brickell on the River and NeoVertika overlooking future construction site will suffer diminished marketability by heaving tall buildings blocking the views. If you need a further research on which lines will be affected please don’t hesitate to contact me, as an expert for the Brickell real estate market I will be more than happy to provide you with the list of the impacted condo lines.
